Ranjit JohnDr. Ranjit John is an Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Minnesota. He received his medical degree with numerous honors and completed a residency in general surgery at the New York Medical College. Dr. John finished his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Columbia University in 2002; following which he joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota. His clinical and research interests are in heart transplantation, heart failure surgery, valvular heart disease, and ventricular assist devices. Dr. John has published over 70 journal articles, book chapters, and abstracts in peer reviewed publications and continually presents his research at national and international meetings. His memberships include: International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, American Society of Artificial Internal Organs, American Heart Association, and the New York Academy of Sciences
